The Turin Giants Appoint Ex- Azzurri Boss Spalletti

The Old Lady have appointed previous Italian national team manager the veteran manager to lead the team until the end of the season.

The experienced coach takes over from Igor Tudor, who was dismissed following the loss to Lazio recently.

Tudor had joined the club in March as Thiago Motta's replacement but exited following a seven-month stint after an eight-game winless streak.

Spalletti guided Napoli to the Serie A crown in 2022-23 then moving on to lead the Italian national team, who had failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup under former boss Roberto Mancini.

Under his guidance, they made it to Euro 2024 exiting in the last 16 stage against Switzerland.

Yet, the Italian FA let Spalletti go in June after a World Cup qualifying defeat by Norway, as Italy faced the possibility of not making a third World Cup in a row.

He has previously coached Inter Milan, Roma, and Udinese in Italy's top flight and lifted the Russian league trophy twice while at Zenit St Petersburg.

Massimo Brambilla served as interim manager for Juventus in the midweek 3-1 triumph over Udinese moving them to seventh position in the league - trailing leaders Napoli by six points after nine matches.

They are 25th in the league phase of the Champions League, with one loss and two draws in their first three games.
